Structured around the theme ‘Shaping the Future Together’, the FIA eConference will bring together global leaders and experts to address the emerging challenges and opportunities in the worlds of Motorsport and Mobility.

This introductory session will set the tone of our FIA eConference by featuring remarks from FIA Leaders. We will look at the leadership role taken by Clubs during the pandemic, engaging in their communities through different initiatives of assistance, but also how the FIA has been acting in their support, before putting Affiliated Organisations up to speed with recent developments.

Following the unprecedented Covid-19 situation and sweeping impact on the Sport and Mobility sectors, this joint session will examine how consumer behaviour has changed and will continue to change in the future.
 
We will focus on what the world, our businesses and activities will look like after the pandemic. We will analyse how the Covid-19 crisis and its consequent changes in regulations, human behaviours, and business practices have accelerated and revised the transformations in Sport and Mobility.

The first Sport plenary session will look at how motorsport is planning to return to racing.
 
This will include examples from the highest levels of the sport - with a specific keynote on the return of Formula One - followed by a discussion between various championship promoters about what they are doing from the ground up.
 
A case study will conclude the session, focusing on how other sports have successfully restarted, defining an appropriate approach and taking suitable measures to ensure a safe return to competition.

Following the FIA Stay Tuned online initiative that brought together over 260 participants from 73 member organisations in 59 countries to exchange on the challenges posed by Covid-19 and how to respond, this session will focus on discussing initiatives to get ready for what’s coming next. After a short summary of key takeaways from FIA Stay Tuned, the session will focus on Clubs’ key messages thinking ahead and how to get ready for the next normal and increase Clubs’ performance and resilience. The session will also discuss the resources the FIA is developing to support Clubs beyond the crisis, the FIF project ‘Mobility Worldwide’ in particular.

The second sport plenary will look at how all forms of sport should have a sense of purpose, particularly in the post Covid-19 world.
 
Sport as a unique ability to reach, unite and empower millions of people globally. The world’s top sporting events are some of the most watched events in the world, bringing enormous visibility. Athletes are powerful role models that inspire others and lead by example. This is an opportunity to bring the world together and to raise public awareness of societal issues and solutions.
 
At the core of the FIA’s mission is to act and advocate for “safe and sustainable motorsport for all”. In a world that faces continuously evolving economic, environmental and health-related challenges, the FIA has a clear focus on ensuring that the worlds of motorsport accelerate their positive contribution to society - that they move together towards a set of established goals.

Esports event organisers will then offer practical tips on how to set up a successful event.

The first part of this session will deal with investment and financing for sustainable tourism. How to leverage investment for sustainable tourism growth in a post Covid-19 world? Does tourism development promote economic growth in transition countries?
 
The second will examine how to reduce barriers to travel and transport, and explain how can governments overcome the geo-economic context to attract tourists and investment. What are the regulatory changes required? What role for our Clubs?
 
The third will explore data analysis in forecasting tourism development. What role does information play in tourism? Industry players can now make informed decisions on the basis of analytics and number-driven data. How to unlock the “data potential” for tourism thought leaders?
 
The final part will cover technical assistance/capacity building programs in tourism recovery. Capacity building is widely acknowledged as an important tourism development strategy. How can clubs take an active part in development projects? What are the best practices in project design and implementation?
