Dear friends,

Welcome to the 2020 FIA eConference website.

The unprecedented crisis that has been shaking the world for months now has required us to innovate how we get together. Given that virtual meetings have become part of the new normal, our global event will adapt to the current circumstances and will be held by means of an online Conference.

I am looking forward to welcoming you to the FIA joint Sport and Mobility eConference, which will take place from 15 to 18 June. Structured around the theme ‘Shaping the Future Together’, it will bring together the FIA family, the Member Clubs’ Presidents, senior executives representing 243 affiliated organisations of the FIA from 146 countries, as well as global leaders and experts who will be addressing the post Covid-19 Motorsport and Mobility’s scenarios.

It will open with a common Sport & Mobility session examining how Covid-19 is impacting our two pillars, and what the world may look like after the pandemic. It will be followed by a high-level discussion with leaders analysing how different organisations across the sport and mobility spheres can tackle and turn the current challenges into opportunities for more sustainable operations and proactive cooperation.

The Sport sessions will first explore the possibilities ASNs will have to restart their activities and return to racing in the best conditions, will then discuss the relevance of Motor Sport, its significant contribution to society and the importance of racing with a purpose. After the fruitful FIA Stronger Together Webinar, a dedicated session will focus on Digital Motor Sport, how to keep the momentum and fully integrate this new discipline in the Motor Sport ladder.

Following the positive reaction to the FIA Stay Tuned initiative, Mobility sessions will address how the FIA network is responding to help member Clubs to build increased business agility in the face of major disruption. In particular, we will examine the impact on tourism activities and scenarios for future demand. In addition, we will consider emerging strategies for advocacy in support of safe and sustainable mobility in a world where personal transport solutions are more relevant than ever.

On this occasion, studios will be organised at the FIA office in both Paris and Geneva as well as at the F1 and FE’s headquarters in London.

I hope to see you all online for this innovative event.

With my most heartfelt wishes for your continued safety and health,

Jean Todt

Dear ASN colleagues,

I am looking forward very much to joining you at our very first virtual conference. There is no doubt that these are unprecedented times, but they also bring with them unique opportunities and this is certainly the case with our first FIA eConference.

I am pleased to see that our “Solidarity Programme” has already reached out to 243 colleagues from 104 ASN’s, and with this global conference being conducted virtually for the first time we hope that more of you than ever before can participate in it. There will be no limit to the number of members from each ASN who can log in to the conference sessions and contribute to the discussions, so I would encourage all of you to register.

It is set to be a truly high-level event featuring global leaders from across motor sport and mobility to provide invaluable insight on the changes that are affecting our sport and the wider world. And of course importantly we will be offering direct practical advice through panel discussions and presentations that are relevant to the daily work of our member clubs as they move to re start our sport and confidentially look to re building.

The theme this year – Shaping the Future Together – could not be more relevant for our times as it is more important than ever for our members to form strong bonds to help them jointly meet this future challenge. We will of course miss not being together at social events and face to face networking, but in another way perhaps we have never been more connected, reaching out to help each other. This is such a strength of our Federation.

As we look to restart our sport, let’s also recognise that all genders and different races have always been welcome in motorsport, and as a leading global sport we have a long sound history of social responsibility.

I look forward to you joining us at this important global event and proving that even though we are apart physically, we have never been stronger together in spirit and cooperation.

Regards,

Graham Stoker
FIA Deputy President for Sport

Dear Mobility Delegates,

The current global situation has brought about an unexpected turning point for the Clubs, which will have to stay tuned, adapt, and create new opportunities for their members.

The FIA eConference is a key opportunity to strengthen our network with Member Clubs while offering new perspectives for the future.

Following last’s year first joint FIA Conference, Sport and Mobility will join forces again to bring you a new take on how to respond to the consequences of the crisis. We will strive to deliver a remarkable programme, focused on the special needs of FIA Clubs.

This week will be a unique occasion to learn and exchange around the topics of mobility responses to Covid-19, redesigning advocacy, and relaunching tourism activities.

I am looking forward to seeing you during this FIA online conference.

Best Regards,

Thierry Willemarck
FIA Deputy President for Automobile Mobility and Tourism
